Jack Gardiner is coming to Singapore! But who is he?
Jack Gardiner is not usually a name that appears on the radar of electric guitarists in Singapore. When it comes to consuming entertainment, Singapore has traditionally leaned heavily toward American media. As a result, names like Tim Henson or Cory Wong tend to stand out more prominently than Jack. Yet this guitarist from Liverpool, UK, is a creative force that should not be overlooked. Now based in Switzerland, Jack has collaborated with world-class musicians such as Matteo Mancuso, Tim Henson, and Dirty Loops bassist Henrik Linder. Still, the question remains, who exactly is Jack Gardiner?

Jack Gardiner has collaborated with world class guitarists!

Jack Gardiner has a long history of collaborating with exceptional musicians. Among the many artists he has worked with are Andy Timmons, Tim Henson, Hendrik Linder, Matteo Mancuso, Cory Wong, and Mike Dawes. Naturally, this list represents only the tip of the iceberg. We are eager to see what other ambitious collaborations will emerge in the future. Each partnership adds a new musical flavor, blending the distinct styles of these artists into Jack’s compositions.
Collaborations are both a sign of recognition from successful guitarists and a powerful way to elevate a song. When different musicians come together, each brings their own style, tone, and musical personality, making the final piece far more dynamic and flavorful. In recent years, collaborations have become increasingly popular, with even legendary names like Steve Vai and Andy Timmons teaming up with newer artists.
Charting a new style and genre, uniquely Jack Gardiner
For someone who has spent almost his entire life playing and teaching the guitar, Jack Gardiner’s style feels incredibly refreshing. To be honest, I’m not even sure how to categorise his music. It feels like a blend of Dirty Loops’ band-driven energy, Mateus Asato’s signature double stops, and Guthrie Govan’s insane tapping techniques! All wrapped together with some of the most original phrasing you’ll hear in modern guitar music. When my colleague first told me about this upcoming masterclass, I was hesitant and even told him that it wasn’t really the style of guitar music I usually enjoy. But after listening to Jack’s music for a week,at work and while driving,I realised how wrong I was. I was completely hooked.
If we must categories him into some traditional categories, then maybe Fusion, Rock, Disco, Funk, and a bit of Jazz. Well if you don’t understand, it must be jazz anyway. 😀

He is an Ibanez Artist!

Earning the title of an Ibanez Artist is far from easy. It takes a respected and credible guitar career to stand among the names on that roster. After all, you are sharing the stage with legends like Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, and Joe Satriani. Players who shaped the sound of modern electric guitar and brought the instrument to worldwide fame. Being part of the Ibanez family also comes with a responsibility! That is to carry forward the passion and inspiration for the next generation. While everyone has their own musical tastes, it is always worthwhile to take a closer look at the musicians who make it onto that list.
