After posting our NDP 2025 cover of the theme song “Here We Are”, we quickly realised that our video is unsearchable. Our friends and family share the same struggle of searching for our video on YouTube! A pale comparison to the view counts we get for our NDP song covers done a decade ago. Our latest cover? It felt like a needle in a haystack.
Although YouTube operates as a search engine, its algorithm ultimately decides what content you see. As a result, lesser-known videos or smaller channels often struggle to gain traction. Recognising this challenge, we took the initiative as a music school in Singapore to explore YouTube’s search function more thoroughly. Through this deep dive, we discovered five incredibly cool covers of this year’s NDP theme song, Here We Are.

We love that the teachers made time in their busy schedules to create this cover for their students. It’s a truly beautiful rendition of the song. SG60 NDP 2025 Theme Song【 Here We Are 2.0 】
This cover took us by complete surprise! From the cover image, we expected it to be a simple remix with added sound effects or a change in tempo. But instead, it turned out to be a full-on recreation with creative improvisation. According to their channel description, every cover they produce is more than just a cover; it’s a version 2.0. We’re genuinely impressed!

We love how they incorporated sign language in their video to teach us how to express “Happy National Day”! Also, the combination of violin and piano can’t go wrong. They did such a beautiful rendition!

As a music school that offers piano lessons in Singapore, we are always appreciative of a piano cover on YouTube! It shows our students the possibilities the piano can offer. In this case, an instrumental version of the NDP theme song!
Here We Are (Reimagined) | SG60 Tribute | Celebrating Singapore: Volume 2
We happened to find this beautifully produced version of this year’s theme song by the Music and Drama Company (MDC) all the way at the bottom of the page. Interestingly, this came as a surprise because the video had such a high production value. Furthermore, since MDC is part of MINDEF, which is under the government, we assumed it would naturally receive more visibility. Given all these factors, it seemed likely that YouTube would promote it to a wider audience. However, in the end, it looks like the algorithm isn’t as biased as we thought.
